Project Scope

The Marriott Hotel Melrose Arch project required coordinated design and deployment of IPTV and HSIA infrastructure across both hotel and apartment environments. VOD Group also had to integrate third-party systems on the network, including BMS, VoIP phones and door locks, while keeping hotel and apartment domains separate with their own branded guest experience.

The Requirements

1

Full IPTV Solution

Interactive in-room entertainment delivered across the hotel and apartment sections.

2

Full HSIA Coverage

High Speed Internet Access in every room and across common guest areas.

3

Third-Party Integration

BMS, VoIP phones and electronic door locks connected into the switching network.

4

Separate Guest Domains

Distinct hotel and apartment experiences, including unique WiFi landing pages and GUI designs.

The Solution

1

Hoist Fusion Platform

A single Dell server formed the core platform for managing IPTV devices, HSIA service, Chromecasts and connected client devices.

2

Ruckus Wireless Deployment

Ruckus SmartZone, ICX switches and 650+ access points delivered strong signal levels and reliable throughput across the property.

3

LG Hospitality Screens

500+ LG hospitality screens delivered high-quality in-room HD viewing with a custom interactive guest interface.

4

Chromecast in Every Room

Google Chromecast enabled guests to stream personal media from their own devices for a more familiar in-room experience.

The Result

The property received full WiFi coverage with strong signal quality, Chromecast in every room and a switching network capable of supporting the hospitality experience alongside third-party operational systems. The hotel and apartment areas could share the same Hoist Fusion foundation while maintaining separate domains and tailored guest-facing interfaces.
